Dental Implant Treatment Plan

Understand the appointments, decisions and healing stages ahead. Your plan at our Bulimba clinic brings them together around your oral health and the teeth you need to replace.

Free consultation and 3D CBCT scan. A $200 records fee applies only if you choose to take the consultation records away. Suitability and a written quote are confirmed after assessment. Requesting a consultation does not book a treatment appointment.

A conversation about your needs is the starting point.

A plan shaped around you

Your written plan brings together the proposed treatment, alternatives, risks, estimated timing and itemised fees. The stages below are a guide: additional preparation, such as extractions or bone grafting, may change the sequence.

The five stages of treatment

From your first appointment to the fitted restoration.

  1. Understand your needs

    Consultation

We discuss your concerns, medical history and treatment goals, and examine your teeth and gums. This helps us assess whether implants may be suitable and which alternatives to consider.

Your next step: request a free consultation. Suitability and fees are confirmed after assessment in a written quote.

  2. Agree on the approach

    3D imaging & treatment planning

Imaging, including a 3D CBCT scan where clinically required, helps assess the available bone and nearby anatomy. We use this information to plan implant positions and the restoration they will support.

Before proceeding: review the proposed stages, any preparatory treatment and your itemised estimate.

  3. The surgical appointment

    Implant placement

The implant is placed into the jawbone under local anaesthesia, following the agreed clinical plan. Your clinician will explain the procedure, the risks and your care instructions before surgery.

Discuss beforehand: the anaesthetic approach and any arrangements needed for your recovery.

  4. Allow time for recovery

    Healing & review

The bone heals around the implant over the following months, a process called osseointegration. Review appointments help your clinician assess healing and decide when the implant is ready for its final restoration.

Between visits: follow your individual instructions for cleaning, eating and looking after the surgical area.

  5. Fit the replacement teeth

    Your final crown or restoration

When the implant is ready, a custom crown, bridge or other planned restoration is fitted. The shape, appearance and bite are checked, and the team explains how to care for it.

After fitting: agree on your maintenance visits and home-care routine.

Care continues after the final fitting

Ongoing care is part of your treatment plan.

Daily cleaning

Once healed, clean your teeth and the areas around your implant every day. Your team will demonstrate the cleaning tools suited to your restoration.

Regular reviews

Follow the review schedule recommended for you. Dr Kieren Tso supports diagnostic reviews, with maintenance coordinated by Mr Dennis Han.

Protect your restoration

Avoid chewing hard objects. If you grind your teeth, discuss whether a protective appliance is appropriate. Contact the clinic if anything changes or concerns you.
