Privacy Policy
Your privacy is extremely important to us. This policy details how Brisbane Dental Implants collects, stores, protects, and handles your personal and clinical health information in strict compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
Last Updated: 29 August 2026
At Brisbane Dental Implants, we are committed to protecting the privacy of our patients and website visitors. Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), we operate as a health service provider. Clinical and personal data collected through our website, dental booking systems, or in-clinic consultations is handled securely and with absolute confidentiality.
1. What Personal and Clinical Information We Collect
To provide high-quality dental and surgical care, we collect personal and sensitive health-related information. This includes:
- Identity Information: Name, date of birth, and gender.
- Contact Details: Phone number, email address, and residential address.
- Sensitive Health Information: Dental history, medical conditions, medications, clinical notes, and allergies.
- Diagnostic Records: 3D CBCT scans, dental radiographs (X-rays), photographs, and digital impressions.
- Financial Information: Billing records, payment plan details, health fund coverage, and superannuation early release documentation.
2. How We Collect Your Personal Information
We collect personal information directly from you wherever practicable, including when you:
- Submit an online consultation form or contact request through our website.
- Complete a patient intake or medical history questionnaire (online or in-clinic).
- Speak with our staff via telephone or email.
- Attend a face-to-face consultation or diagnostic imaging appointment at our Bulimba clinic.
We may also receive health information from third parties (e.g., referring general dentists or medical practitioners) with your explicit consent.
3. Why We Collect, Hold, Use, and Disclose Information
We collect and handle your personal and clinical information for the primary purpose of delivering exceptional dental implant and surgical care. Specifically, this includes:
- Assessing your clinical suitability for dental implant treatments and preparatory procedures (e.g., bone grafting).
- Formulating personalized dental treatment and restoration plans.
- Scheduling appointments, sending reminders, and coordinating clinical care.
- Processing payments, health fund claims, and assisting with structured payment plans (e.g., TLC, SuperCare).
- Internal clinical audits, quality assurance, and complying with Australian healthcare regulations.
Clinical Security: Because we house a fully functional digital dental lab and 3D CBCT imaging facility directly on-site in Bulimba, your sensitive diagnostic files and restoration designs remain within our secure in-house network and are not shipped to overseas labs.
4. How We Secure and Store Your Data
We take active, rigorous steps to protect your personal and clinical data from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure. These measures include:
- Secure, encrypted local networks and server architectures.
- Password-protected, role-based access to clinical dental software.
- SSL encryption on all digital contact and consultation forms.
- Strict physical security protocols at our Bulimba clinic premises.
- Regular backups and routine security audits of clinical systems.
Information is kept only as long as required by Australian dental health record retention laws (typically 7 years from the last clinical contact, or until age 25 for patients treated as minors).
5. Website Analytics and Cookies
On brisbanedentalimplant.com.au we use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used and which enquiries came from which campaign. These tools set first-party cookies (including _ga and related identifiers) in your browser. The data collected is usage information such as pages viewed, device type, approximate location, referral source, and events like a confirmed consultation request or a tap on our phone number. We do not send your name, email, or phone number to Google Analytics.
Google LLC processes this information on servers that may be located outside Australia, including in the United States. Google’s own privacy policy describes how it handles that data. You can limit Analytics collection with a browser add-on such as the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. Doing so does not affect booking a consultation by phone or through the form.
6. Website Chat Assistant
Our website offers an automated chat assistant for bookings and general clinic inquiries. When you send it a message, we store the conversation — what you send and the assistant's replies — along with the page you were reading and, if you request one, the consultation details you asked us to pass to reception. This is stored securely in a database hosted in Australia (Sydney).
Your messages are processed by Google’s Gemini AI model to generate the replies; Google’s own privacy policy describes how it handles that data. We keep chat conversations only to answer your enquiry, forward your consultation request, and improve the information on our website, and they are automatically deleted after 90 days.
The chat assistant cannot provide clinical advice and is not a clinician. Please don’t use it to describe symptoms or urgent problems — call the clinic on (07) 3523 1764 instead; in an emergency, call 000. A chat request is not a booked appointment: reception will contact you to arrange a time.
7. Accessing and Correcting Your Information
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have a right to access and seek correction of the personal and health information we hold about you. To request access, please contact our clinic in writing. We will process your request within 30 days. To ensure patient safety, clinical records (including 3D CBCT scans) require identity verification before release.
If you believe any information we hold is inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete, please contact us immediately, and we will take prompt steps to correct it.
8. Complaints and Privacy Contact
If you have any questions, concerns, or wish to lodge a complaint regarding a potential breach of the Privacy Act 1988 or the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact our Practice Manager:
