Digital scan
An intraoral scanner captures the prepared tooth or implant position, the opposing teeth and the bite. This digital impression replaces conventional putty trays in many cases and is sent straight to the laboratory.
Our fully integrated, in-house digital dental laboratory in Bulimba lets our clinical and technical teams collaborate under one roof. This helps restorations be fabricated to the planned specifications, with adjustments and repairs handled efficiently rather than being sent interstate or overseas.
Lab Fabrication
Having our own dental laboratory means our clinicians and technicians work side by side, so restorations can be reviewed against the planned shape, bite and shade before they reach your mouth.
Because the laboratory sits within our Bulimba clinic, a technician can attend a fitting appointment when needed to check fit, contacts and colour in person. This is particularly useful for visible front-tooth restorations and full-arch cases, where small differences in shape or shade are easier to refine chairside than through written instructions sent off-site.
Most implant and crown restorations follow a digital, restoration-first workflow. The exact steps and timing vary with the case, the material chosen and whether any remakes or refinements are needed.

The technician designs the restoration on screen, planning the contour, contact points and bite so the result is functional and cleansable. The clinician can review the design before anything is manufactured.
The approved design is milled from a zirconia or ceramic block, or printed for selected appliances and models. Working in-house means a new attempt can be started promptly if a refinement is required.
Stain, glaze and any porcelain layering are applied to match the surrounding teeth in colour and translucency. Shade is checked against your natural teeth rather than from a photograph alone.
The restoration is tried in to check fit, contacts, bite and appearance. Adjustments can be made on-site, and the restoration is only fitted once the clinician and patient are satisfied.
Our laboratory produces a range of dental restorations to support implant treatment and general dental care, with a focus on aesthetics, function and durability.
Custom ceramic and zirconia crowns designed to suit your bite and match neighbouring teeth in shape, colour and translucency for a natural-looking result.
Fixed bridge restorations supported by implants or natural teeth, providing stable, functional replacements for one or more missing teeth.
Full and partial dentures, including implant-retained options, crafted for comfort, function and a natural appearance.
Complete arch prosthetics for full-mouth implant rehabilitation, designed for fit, function and long-term maintainability.
Keeping fabrication on-site changes how clinical and technical decisions are made. It does not replace careful planning, but it can reduce the back-and-forth involved in getting a restoration right.
Turnaround times depend on the complexity of the case, the materials selected and the healing stage of any implants involved. Your clinician will give you an estimated timeline as part of your written treatment plan.
We use quality dental materials and follow defined protocols so restorations meet functional and aesthetic standards.
Our restorations use modern ceramic materials chosen for their strength, biocompatibility and ability to replicate the appearance of natural teeth.
CAD/CAM technology allows precise digital design of restorations, supporting accurate fabrication and consistent results across cases.
Restorations are inspected for fit, function and aesthetics before being approved for fitting, so issues can be identified before placement.
We use TGA-approved dental materials and work with reputable suppliers to support the safety and compliance of the products we fit.
The restoration made in the lab depends on whether your plan involves a single crown, an implant bridge, an All-on-4 bridge or full-mouth reconstruction.
Restoration design at Brisbane Dental Implants is directed by your treating dentist, who may include Dr Virginia Han or Dr Sae Mi Bok depending on the case. The clinician sets the design brief, reviews the restoration before fitting and remains responsible for the final clinical result.
Meet the clinical teamYes. Our digital dental laboratory is located within our Bulimba clinic, serving patients across Brisbane's eastern suburbs. Many crowns, bridges, dentures and implant restorations are designed and fabricated on-site rather than sent to an external laboratory.
Turnaround varies with the type of restoration, the materials chosen and the healing stage of any implants involved. An on-site laboratory can help streamline adjustments and remakes, but it does not shorten the biological healing time an implant needs. Your clinician will provide an estimated timeline in your treatment plan.
Shade, brightness and translucency are assessed in person and compared against your surrounding teeth. Because the technician can review the work chairside, colour can be refined before the restoration is fitted. Exact matching can be more challenging for single front teeth, and your clinician will discuss what is realistic for your case.
We commonly use zirconia and lithium disilicate ceramics, selected for strength, biocompatibility and appearance. All materials we fit are TGA-approved. The most suitable material depends on the location in the mouth, your bite and aesthetic needs.
In many cases minor repairs, relines and adjustments can be carried out in-house. Whether a restoration can be repaired or should be remade depends on its condition, the underlying tooth or implant and the cause of the problem, which the dentist will assess first.
